FIFA 2010, Even the Refs love this game!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This review is based from the perspective of a fellow referee. Let me start by explaining I have been refereeing for over 14 years, reaching the levels of intercollegiate football. With that said, I anticipated this game with great expectations as I had read the [...] review first.

When I burst into this game, the graphics and gameplay were of utmost concern. IN ADDITION, the refereeing prowess, skill, and real-life “ness” were just equally as important factors. WOW! I have to say, I am impressed! You could tell EA Sports took their time to consult with actual referees in the development of this game because the referee signaling is spot on, NOT TO MENTION, their foul recognition. For example, I was playing early this morning PURPOSEFULLY slide tackling every opponent I could as to see if their foul EA Sport’s referee’s foul recognition was similar to mine.

EA SPORTS: Excellent job! And, I don’t even have to pay the refs for each game I play, that is how real this is.

More Kicks Than Karate
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I know that the FIFA games tend to get a little better every year, and I always think to myself,” This year’s installment is great, but…”

Not with FIFA 10.

I’ve only played the manager mode with the team I support the most, AS Roma, but simply from that experience, what a difference in the game play. I liked last year’s addition of an actual referee pointing the flag in the direction of team possession, so of course, that made it back to FIFA 10. New additions to the FIFA game include; a full schedule for your team, including preseason friendlies with teams in your league, and with teams all over Europe; improved player likenesses, including the way indivual players move (Francesco Totti actually moves like Francesco Totti); weather changes to go with day and night games, including rain and snow; in the rain snow games, most of the players on your squad switch to longsleeves, which was a feature missing from the previous FIFAs; it’s easier for defenders to tackle and win possession, which makes the game more difficult but lends to the realistic aspects a real match; and right and left backs can actually push up the sides of the field, which allows them to score and gives more team members besides just your strikers and attacking midfielders a chance on goal.

The only problem I have with the game is the price, and the fact that I’m a full time student without the time to play the game as much as I’d like. Fully recommended to any fans of the previous games. And just think to yourself once you play it…it only gets better from here.

Phenomenal Game In Every Way
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been a FIFA fan for many years. My love of this video game, particularly on Xbox 360, has led to me becoming a huge fan of professional soccer (football), particularly the English Premier League. For those seeking improvements over previous years, FIFA 10 does not disappoint. Amazing new animations, dozens of them, add to the realism like never before. Some may dislike the slightly faster gameplay, but not me. The rich details and sharp action make every match feel like the real thing. I haven’t had a chance to get into all the special new features, but the most intriguing looks to be the custom set pieces. I look forward to another year of addiction to this remarkable video game.

It is better than Fifa 09. What more can you ask? If you have played Fifa for years, you will love it, if you have not, you probably will not. Manager Mode is incredibly addictive.

I am currently on my 4th season with Sunderland (Go Black Cats!), with American nationals Jozy Altidore, Michael Braldey, and Jermaine Jones, joined by a mix of wily vets (Michel Bastos) and young talents (Jack Wilshere), we have taken the premier league by storm. Top of the table.

Improved Gameplay

I just got the game a few days ago but things I noticed so far. The game is really fluid and a little faster than 09. Quick free kicks when you get fouled mid field the player will simply pick up the ball place it down and GAME ON GARTH. Getting carded is no longer a cut shot but simply the ref runs up to the player and books him (the camera angle stays the same).

Dribbling is much better you can now absorb contact and push the ball.

Again game speed is much faster so you don’t have to use turbo all the time and burn out your players come 2nd half. Shooting from distance now works in 09 and previous years the only to score was on a breakaway or 10 feet from the goalie (Gerrard Lampard we doing work this year)

Let me stop rambling. Fifa 10 is a great game alot of people would say PES. I was one of those guys but Fifa 09 really put the ball in their court and 10 just improves off last years game.

Madden junkies that want to play a sports game where it doesn’t take an hour to play a game pick up Fifa you can probably get about 4-5 matches out in the same time it takes to play a madden game online.

nothing special

Wasn’t impressed. Controls are still sluggish and the turbo/RS control trapping wasn’t as fluid as i would have liked. I’ll still play it, but it was more of a roster update more than anything.
