As usual excellent Garmin GPS. The touch screen is not as good as my IPhone, not as responsive. When you spell a name or enter an address the the space between adjacent letters or numbers is too small and unless your careful you can easily make mistakes. Annoying since the erase button is very small.

I hope in the future that they can in some way integrate with Google Maps. For business searches I use IPhone Google Maps as its a lot faster and more complete.

As above a great product, I highly recommend it.

Recently we purchased a 2010 Prius and Toyota offered the option of a GPS system. After doing some research and canvassing friends with GPS units, we decided to invest in a separate unit of our own at substantial savings. This Garmin Nuvi 756 is fully portable, easily mountable in our two vehicles, and even can be used as a handheld for biking trips. I particularly enjoy confusing it (the voiceover actually sounds irritated) when I add on errand stops while driving around town :-) .

This GPS rocks

I finally broke down and decided it was time to get up-to-date with technology and buy a GPS. Since this was my first purchase, I put a lot of time into researching it. So far this Garmin nuvi has been right on although I wish Garmin would update their maps more often. We have a portion of interstate beltway that has been open for a year and it still hasn’t shown up. Anyway…this device is easy to use. The Bluetooth works great although don’t forget to turn it off on the unit when you are shutting down as it will drain your battery. (I’m still getting used to Bluetooth too.) The lane assist in the upper left corner is very helpful and the larger view onscreen helps too, when it displays. I think the number of cities for this is growing. I love this GPS and would definitely recommend it.

Great GPS unit

This is my first GPS purchase and after much investigation, I decided to try the Garmin Nuvi 765t. I read dozens of reviews on many different GPS units and found that there is no universally approved unit on the market. It seems that no matter the brand and features, someone seemed to be miserably unhappy with their choice.

My recommendation is to list the features you need and separately list the features you would like but don’t need. Then start searching for the right combination. After narrowing your search, read the reviews that are available. If you find complaints that are repeated for a unit, that should be a red flag. I looked for reasonable complaints that might lean more toward unfamiliarity or personal preference.

I ultimately chose the 765t because it included almost every feature I needed and wanted with a very reasonable price to match. I wanted voice recognition but figured that the trade off in other functions isn’t worth it right now. After the technology has been out a little longer and the memory penalty is less severe, I’ll try one of the voice activated models.

The 765t is very easy to use right out of the box and I have had no problems through the first month of use. Although I read several complaints concerning the volume of the unit, that has not been a problem for me. Whether allowing the unit to process the sound or putting it through the vehicle stereo speaker system, the sound has been easy to hear. I prefer the sound directly from the GPS.

Very Good Product

Have used it for a month and it’s great.

Can’t speak for the bluetooth or the wireless reception as I do not use them.

The speed limit will change as you pass the sign, so I guess that the accuracy must be within 13′ as stated.

Happy with product

Just bought unit from Amazon, used it for 500 mile trips. Easy to set up. Time for arrival was dead on as predicted in the driveway. Very accurate maps. Driving tools for mileage, distance, elevation, very helpful. Speaker voice a little weak, but I use it turned off. I would recommend this unit, Garmin nĂ¼vi 765/765T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigatorgood display, accuracy, and lots of extras.

The Garmin nuvi 765T is a pretty good product. It has a ton of features that are helpful when navigating in the city or the countryside. I have 2 complaints about this product:

1 –the touch screen is very inaccurate. Regardless of how many times you sych the screen it seems to regularly fail or be off by as much as inch. Not acceptable in this day and age.

2–this one is not so bad but when you get deep down in the menus, you have to select back many times to get back to your navigation. What about adding a button that will allow you move back with one selection?

Overall, this is a nice product and works well.

It’s not perfect, but it at least works
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The thing would be a lot better if it send me on more practical routes instead of ones that add extra time on the trip. You just have to remember to have a basic idea of where you’re going before you leave home and trust this thing. It’s not human, and you should practice good decision making when listening to it. But regardless, it’ll still get you there.

The traffic warnings are far from being accurate. I hit 20 miles of stop and go construction on a road trip, and the Garmin said I was clear the whole time, but that the other side of the street was backed up. Ironically the other side was wide open. When had another time where the Garmin suddenly said, “Severe traffic ahead. Rerouting. Go …..” Well, the unit will show a red or yellow indicator and say how many minutes of delay. It only said it was a one minute delay, and yellow. The detour put us in the middle of stop and go traffic in the down town area of a major city, and it took us 45 minutes to get back to the highway. When we did, the traffic was clear.

Overall, the unit is still worth the money. It is very helpful, especially for my wife who forgets to pay attention to the signs, or where she is. I wouldn’t pay retail price, but for what I paid here on Amazon, I don’t regret it. It’s a piece of technology, which is made by man, and man isn’t perfect.

Love the traffic option and the ease of use. This is my 2nd Garmin unit and they do well. Only donside is that in a few years the rechargeablebattery will begin to go and you canot replace the battery at a reasonable cost. At that time its worth upgrading anyway.

Would buy the unit agian!

The Garmin 765T works as I expected nearly flawless. This is my second Garmin GPS, and both have worked as good as advertised or better. I upgraded to the 765T because I wanted the lane assist and traffic updates. Below are my Pro’s and Con’s.

Pro’s:

Free Traffic for the life of device.

Lane Assist.

Faster map updates.

Con’s:

Speaker for device isn’t sufficient for operations with the windows down or bluetooth.
