Cute and handy Rating:5 out of 5 stars This thing is really cute. It takes up almost no space in your pocket. I just got it and haven’t used it much yet except to open some boxes using the small, sharp knife – which, like the other pull-out tools on the Squirt, comes out from the side of the closed Leatherman so you don’t have to spread the handles open to the pliers in order to use it. Everything opens and closes with a precise snap. The pliers are spring-loaded and look small but serious, with a wire-cutter at the base. The tools seem well-made, though you need to realize that a “flat Phillips” is a Phillips blade – sort of – with two, rather than the usual four, tines; I haven’t tried it on a real Phillips screw yet. The knife blade does not lock in the open position.
The Squirt is very nicely made, a handy thing that’s small enough to keep with you at all times – something I expect to get a lot of use out of.
Upgrade compared to Swiss Army knife Rating:5 out of 5 stars I purchased the Leatherman Squirt P4 to replace a Swiss Army Executive knife that I carried for many years. I bent both screwdriver blades on the Executive as the longer and thinner blades offer less strength then those on the Squirt. The Squirt also offers more useful devices and is an every day tool while the Executive is more of an emergency tool.
I need another one of these. Rating:5 out of 5 stars I purchased this tiny multitool a few years ago after another manufacturer’s inferior product fell apart in my hand. It has never disappointed me.
As another reviewer said, I am not a “tool person.” This product came in handy often, especially the pliers. Don’t even think about buying the model with the scissors. You know where your scissors are, but how many times have you had to dig through a closet or the basement to find pliers? This pair is convenient because it folds to the length of a car key, yet is sturdy and reliable.
In fact, it is so convenient to carry that mine was confiscated by airport security because I had no idea it was nestled in my carry-on. Now I need another one.
Ladies, don’t let your guy friends hassle you because it’s called the “Squirt.” Just look at that ridiculous giant pouch they have to wear on their belt for their 3-pound multitool. All they ever use is the screw-driver and the pliers anyway.
Not as good as the Micra for me Rating:3 out of 5 stars After losing my micra, I thought I’d try the P4. As the previous owner of a Micra (The other keychain multi-tool by Leatherman) I am a bit disappointed by this Squirt P4 tool. The convenience of this tool over the micra is that it has a pliers and Awl, unlike the Micra, and a “better file”. The pliers is nice, as are the screw drivers. However, unlike the micra, the bottle opener is more of a struggle to use. I would have to think twice and look for an alternative before I’d consider using it. With the micra, it seemed like it was a little longer and fit the curvature of the bottle cap for better leverage. Also, this tool has a file with serrations on both sides, which is nice, and the tools are accessible from the outside of the handle, which is also nice. However, if I were a designer, I would have masked the edge and portions of the file that are exposed when closed such that it didn’t snag the inside of your pocket.
I owned a micra for a few years and really appreciated the convenience of having it. I may grow to appreciate the P4 tool, but I probably should have just purchased another micra.
Good Squirt Rating:5 out of 5 stars Although this tool costs much more than some similar tools made by other companies, it is a high quality tool that is well worth the price. All compnents of the tool are strong enough to stand up to years of abuse. I am most impressed by the file, which is sharp enough and durable enough to file steel occasionally for several years without dulling. The first Squirt I bought was 8 years old when I lost it, and I was eager to buy another one.
Leatherman 80030003K Squirt P4 Pocket Multi-Tool Rating:5 out of 5 stars It is well built. Having a tool with you at all times comes in very handy. I prefer the wrench over the scissors because I tend to need a wrench more often and I can use the blade if I need to cut. This is my second mini tool (my first lasted 10 years and I keep in my wifes vehicle now) and I use it almost daily.
Handy little tool Rating:4 out of 5 stars I love mine and everyone I given one to as a gift has liked it. Especially usefull is the smallest screwriver, it actually fits that little screw in the eyeglass hinge. The wire cutter cuts #12 solid quite easily. I’ve only 2 gripes, the philips screwdriver is only semi usefull, perhaps a precision philips would have been a better device there, and the bottlecap tool takes a few bites before the cap will come off. I do carry it eveywhere, and give them as gifts frequently.
Great little “leatherwoman” Rating:5 out of 5 stars I purchased one of these a few years ago and lost it early this summer. I felt helpless without it. Nice little rig, fits nicely in my pocket. I HAD to get a new one. Pricey but worth it.
Great Tool For Key Chain Rating:5 out of 5 stars I am really impressed with the Leatherman Squirt. I’m so impressed that I bought one for a very good friend of mine as a gift. I got a blue one for myself because I have a blue truck and I bought my friend a red one because he has a red car. Whatever the color the Leatherman Squirt has impressed me as being as well built as the full size Leatherman Tool and that’s what impressed me the most. Don’t let the size fool you.
Super handy and super usable! Rating:5 out of 5 stars In August we did an 8 day 50 mile backpacking hike in the NM mountains. I took my Leatherman P4 and Leatherman S4. They were both very handy and became the most used tools on the trip. I would highly recommend this to anyone who normally carries a pocketknife or someone who is looking for a lightweight tool to carry camping or hiking.
