Mine is OK, but maybe yours will be better than mine.

Everything works great, except when you turn it on, it takes about 5 minutes to reset itself to the location you are in. It reverts back to the location you used during your last session.

This is my second unit, as my last one had an accident.

My first one didn’t have this problem.

There is also not much notice when the battery is about to die.

Other than that, it is EXCELLENT.

Would have been a good deal if it had worked

This item did not work from the get go. I would say don’t bother ordering a refurbished item. It’s not worth the hassle of having to return it

Good GPS with bad Bluetooth (refurbished unit)

I bought the refurbished unit from amazon. The routing and mapping was excellent however voice command and bluetooth never worked. I called amazon support and they send me another unit. The second unit(refurbished) had the same problem. Amazon support got ir back and refunded my money. Thanks amazon for your perfect servce.

I really like it.

So far, we love it. Just got it last week so we will see if I can figure out all the neat stuff but we used it Yard Saling Saturday and it workred great. At the end of our junk buying pilgrimage, I said I wonder what the best way home is from here. The wife said “ask the Magellan the best way home.” Look at it and the screen gave me the option to calculate a route home. Hit the OK and it brought me home a way I had not thought about that was faster and easier than I would have normally take. So far, so good!

Get lost? Never!

I bought the reconditioned model. When one buys one of these, one can be assured that it has been thoroughly tested by a human being! I have tried to get the machine lost but it always finds an alternate route to get me to my destination. The “Points of interest” feature keeps be from guessing where I wnat to go when in a strange city. It found me a neat chinese resturant in Chicago within blocks of my hotel!

A must have for every driver
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My sister has owned the 4250 for over a year and we easily see why every driver should have one. It will always get you to your destination even if detoured. recently i ordered the 5310 but returned it day later after i learned the best feature that was in the 4250 has been removed from all but their newest model and that is voice recognition. Why they would not include this in every model from the 4250 on is just insane and makes using them more dangerous so I’m ordering the 4250 for myself. If you want to know what it’s all about just go to Magellan web site and pick the 4250 unit and click on voice commands because there is a video that will explain why it’s so important. Don’t worry about buying a referb, my sister did and hers has always been fine and if your a AAA subscriber they will existent the warranty. This is something new but now they will give you a free map upgrade if you register and call within the first 30 days. This is an excellent unit and one worth buying

Excellent GPS, easy to use.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This GPS is very easy to use and very easy to update using the Magellan site. The navigation is generally correct but will occasionally route you down a street which is unnecessary, just to put you back on the same street that you were on. I assume that this is common for most GPS units. The only issue that I have with the unit is that you cannot search for a POI while in route to a destination. You must cancel your destination, find the POI and then reroute to your destination again. Although the Exit POI is a nice feature when you are on a highway, it would be nice to have the same option while in smaller cities to find nearby restaurants, stores, etc.

I also signed up for the free trial NAVTEQ traffic reports which came with the unit. The few times I have been on a highway to receive a traffic report, I was already in the traffic or had already seen the construction prior to the report on the GPS. The service just isn’t worth whatever the charge is. As you can just look around you as you drive and see the same stuff and decide to reroute around it. As soon as my free trial period ends, I will not be renewing the subscription as it is very useless.

This is a case of factory refurbished assures accuracy and beats retail for true value. The big screen is much more convenient than smaller screen models.

Upon tryin to decide brand new or factory refurbished I called customer service at Amazon , after talking with them I decided to go with the factory refurbished .Good choice I think I saved about $300.00 + over retail , an it works great no probs set up a snap looks brand new . This is my first GPS so I didn’t wont to pay retail ,I made the right choice , an will look at other (Factory Refurbished) items in the future.

Great GPS device with many features at a great price
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have a Magella Maestro that I bought new for 299 last year. This unit has bluetooth, traffic updates and a large screen. What more do you need from your GPS device. I am happy with my first unit but I needed a second for my wife’s car. I highly recomend it especially at a great price!
